I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being (Psalm 146:2 NASB).
I will not trust in myself (v.3) or the ways of this world. I will not trust that I can figure things out, that I know best, that somehow I know better than the Lord.
He knows best. My hope is in the Lord my God. He made the heavens, He made the earth. His ways are far above my ways. How can the created understand the Creator?
He is forever faithful. He gives justice and feeds my hungry soul. He gives me the bread of life and sets me free.
He is Jesus, the giver of life, the breaker of chains. And He is worthy of praise.
The Lord opens my eyes. When I am blinded by glitter and gold, when I cannot see for the terrors and trials around me, Jesus opens my eyes. He shows me His face, His truth, His ways, His love.
And I give my all to Him. My hopes and dreams and ideas. My plans and desires and thoughts. I give my life to Him. And He raises me up. He gives me His hopes, His plans, His life.
It’s not about me. It’s Him who reigns forever.
And He’s a good ruler. He loves, protects, supports. He is righteous and makes me righteous.
His ways are not my ways. But it’s His ways I want. It’s His ways I seek. It’s His ways I long for.
I bow before Him, I bow to Him, and praise His name, the name of Jesus.
*What do you give to Jesus today? What is your praise? And how does He meet your needs and heart?
