God is our refuge. We have nothing besides Him.
Everything is passing away, the heavens, the earth, our cares, our worries.
But He remains. He is steadfast. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
There is no shadow of turning with Him (James 1:17).
I’ve been thinking a lot about that, what it really means. When He faces me, I see Him. I see His face, His holiness, His light. If He were to turn away, I would only see shadow and darkness. My view of Him would be shrouded.
But if I were to turn away, His light would remain. I would be the only one casting a shadow. His light would surround me, invite me back.
He never turns away. But I may. There is no shadow of turning with Him. He if faithful even when I’m not.
And His light surrounds me. And it always invites me. He never turns away. He is always faithful.
Today is a good day to dwell on that. It’s a full day with lots of responsibilities, cares, and worries. Yet it’s a day to live in and experience the little things. God is faithful.
It’s a day to walk with Him and commune with Him, no matter the circumstance.
It’s a day to sing praises. It’s a day to pray continually and know He is here, seeing us through.
This is God’s day, a day He’s given. It’s a day to rejoice simply because He is.
It’s a day to bless and be blessed.
It’s a day to say, “Surely God is good to me.”
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart! Psalm 73:1
There is no shadow of turning with our God. He is faithful and will never turn away.
