Flood, Fire, and Passing Through

When we are in Christ, we are clothed in Him. We are covered by Him. We are sheltered by Him.

No disaster comes near our tent — no harm shall overcome you (Psalm 91:10). On the day of judgement, we are saved by Him.

…by the word of God…the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But the present heavens and earth by His word are being reserved for fire…. (2 Peter 3:5-7)

First, water. Then, fire. But no harm shall overcome you. In Christ, no disaster comes near our tent.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. (Isaiah 43:2)

Whether flood or fire, we will pass through and be saved. We are in Christ.

The earth will pass away. All things are passing away. This world is temporary.

Out of it, we will be saved. We have the eternal clothes of righteousness through our savior, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 43:2 In Christ, no harm will overcome you.
Isaiah 43:2 In Christ, no harm will overcome you.

Nothing can overcome us when we are in Christ, who lives forever.

This is an eternal matter. The floods and fires of this earth, of our day to day walk, will pass away.

Our trials in this present world are temporary. Whether tiny or huge, they cannot last forever.

Jesus is forever. My trials are not. They may hurt, and I may stumble, but if I am clothed in Christ, if I am tucked under my Father’s wing, I will not be destroyed. No disaster — destruction — will come near me. No harm will overcome me.

I will not be drowned in the floods of judgement or destruction. Only my sins will be washed away.

I will not be burned in the fires of judgement or destruction. Only the dross, my sins, will be burned away.

I am in Christ and am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). No harm will destroy or overcome me, but it will destroy my sins. For that, I am thankful.

Whether present trials or final judgement, I am clothed in Christ.

I’ll not be drowned.

I’ll not be burned.

My God is with me.
