Sometimes, the presence of the Lord is palpable. God’s presence in our lives is unmistakable. Sometimes, the emotions are overwhelming and the feelings so incredible.
And then there are days when feelings are dry and the knowledge of God’s presence is completely by faith, prayer for God’s presence desperate.
On these days, I know God is present. I know God is faithful. But I don’t feel it.
But my feelings don’t change God’s truth. My feelings don’t alter His faithfulness. God is present.
God is present in my life. God is present in your life. We’ve given our all to Him. He is faithful. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
I can find all kinds of teachings about how God is present in my life, or how I can be more aware of His presence in my life, or how I can behave a certain way to gain more of His presence in my life.
But the truth — the reality — is that God is present in our lives. He has promised. And our Lord doesn’t break promises.
No matter how you’re feeling today, no matter the circumstances, God is present in your life. He is with you. He is with me.
I can tell you, I desperately want today to be one of those days when our Lord’s presence is palpable. I want the overwhelming feelings of His presence. But even if I don’t have that, I will know, and I will proclaim that He is with me.
And He is with you. Today, know it.
