My soul languishes for Your salvation: I wait for Thy word (Psalm 119:81).
Forever, Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven (v. 89)
…For Thou Thyself has taught me (v. 102)
Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path (v. 105).
His word is a light to my path. May God shed His light for me today. May He shed His light for each of us. I long for His word to me. It’s life to me.
This world is full of darkness. My God is light. Without His light, how can I see to move forward? Without His light, how can I see to live?
His word is a lamp to my feet. His word lights my path. The Psalmist knew it then and I know it now. I need the Lord’s word, the Lord of all creation, the Lord of me. Every day, every moment. His word is my salvation.
My soul languishes without Him, without His word, without Jesus, the Word (Ps. 119:81). Jesus is my salvation. He is the Word, the Word of Life. He is my life.
And He gave me life. Jesus gave me His salvation, from death to life. And I live in His life.
But always, I want more. I want more of Jesus. I want more of His wholeness, more of His healing, more of His restoration. More of His love.
I want these things in the day to day, in the big things and the little things. In my initial coming to Him and my continual relationship with Him. I want His word. I need His word. I want to hear Him and talk with Him and fellowship with Him.
And while my God speaks to me, and I do hear Him and talk with Him, I still want more.
God’s word is my meditation. It’s my understanding. Who else shows me the way but Him? How can I know without His word?
I wait for God’s word. I wait for His light.
My soul languishes for Thy salvation; I wait for Thy word (v. 81). Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path (v.105).
