I need to keep my eyes on You, Jesus. You are all good, full of lovingkindness, and just.
I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, to You, O Lord, I will sing praises (Psalm 101:1 NASB).
There is so much wickedness around me, in this world. I am so overwhelmed by it.
When I hear news stories and commentaries, I am first shocked, then dismayed, then keenly aware of my helpessness.
I am frustrated and discouraged. There’s nothing I can do. I feel that raging battle to knock me into hopelessness.
But You give hope. You are my hope.
You call me to look at You. You call me to give you all my cares. To sit at Your feet and listen to Your words.
Words of life. Words of love. Words of hope.
These are the words I want to give heed to. Words of the blameless way (Psalm 101:2).
Let my eyes be on Your faithfulness, that I may see hope. That hope may dwell in me.
You are blameless. You are truth.
When I hear of such great wickedness as is going on in the world, let me remember You.
Let the work of the wicked not fasten its grip on me (Ps. 101:3). Let me know no evil (Ps. 101:4).
Let me keep my eyes on You and on Your faithfulness. Let me keep my mind on Your words. Let me keep my heart on Your truth.
Let me keep my eyes on You and sing Your praises.
