Let me not lose sight of all You’ve taught me about Your provision. Nothing takes You by surprise. No matter what my circumstances, and no matter how things change, nothing takes You by surprise.
And You don’t change. You are faithful. You are my provider and You provide regardless of what this world shouts at me and regardless of what my circumstances are flashing in my face.
You are able. You are not bound by details.
Worldly wisdom says I need to take care of things myself. I’ve even heard it said that I need to do all I can first, then You’ll step in. But You’ve said to seek You first.
You never said to do all I can first. You said to seek You first. Seek Your kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
Your face Lord, I will seek (Psalm 27:8).

You are the only wise God (Romans 14:26). And You turn worldly wisdom on its head.
I don’t need to seek any guru’s advice. I don’t need to do the wise thing according to this world’s definition of what is wise. I need to seek You first. I need to seek Your wisdom.
You say give first, then receive. I give You all I am. You are faithful.
I may have nothing; I may have abundance. I will seek You first. Whether in want or whether in plenty, I have learned the secret.
In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and having need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:12-13)
Mary knew the secret. “…But only a few things are necessary, really only one, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her (Luke 11:42).” She sat at the feet of Jesus.
Seek first the kingdom of God.
First, God.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3).
