To Walk With God

There’s one thing I want, really.

It’s simple. It’s straightforward. It’s everything. It’s profound.

I want to walk with God.

Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:9). Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:24). David was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22).

In their lifetimes, these men stood out. They gave up the world. They chose God.

I want to walk with God.

Here I am, walking on this earth, seeking, longing, striving, hoping, wanting. I struggle, suffer, rejoice. I question, doubt, stand firm, proclaim God. He’s faithful and good and true.

But it all comes down to one thing.

I want to walk with God.

The world went on around Noah. The world goes on around me.

Noah would have interacted with people. Some would have been nice, some not so much. People bought and sold, married, lived life. There were rich and poor, happy and sad, smart and dull. People lived and died. Seasons came and went. The world went on all around Noah.

Genesis 6:8-9 Noah walked with God.
Genesis 6:8-9 Noah walked with God.

Yet Noah walked with God.

God saw him. God spoke to him. Noah said yes. He walked with God.

The world went on. People lived. Noah walked with God. Noah lived.

The world goes on around me. I live. I want to walk with God.

I want God to see me. I want Him to speak to me. I want to say yes.

Noah’s world washed away. My world will burn away.

Noah walked with God. He left his world to those who did not. I want to walk with God. This world I leave behind.

“You can have all this world.

Give me Jesus.

I want to walk with God.
