Waiting on the Lord

Oh, that Thou wouldst rend the heavens and come down…(Isaiah 64:1). Yes, Lord, come down. Make Your presence known.

I’ve been waiting a long time. I’ve prayed this verse many times. I know the Lord is with me. Though sometimes, it doesn’t feel like it. Yet, I’m still waiting.

I’m waiting for the Lord to rend the heavens and come down. I’m waiting for Him to tear away all barriers and display His power. Show Your glory, Lord.

Neither has the eye seen a God besides Thee, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him (Is. 64:4).

God will act on my behalf. And I will keep waiting. Where else can I go? Is there anyone else like our God? I will keep waiting. And I will rejoice in the Lord. I will rejoice in His righteousness. That’s what I can do. That’s all I can do.

Thou dost meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, who remembers Thee in Thy ways (Is. 64:5).

I’ve been waiting a long time to see the Lord rend the heavens, to see Him step in and make the mountains quake, to make the nations tremble, to do awesome things I don’t expect.

And I will keep waiting. As I wait, I will rejoice in Him. I will remember Him. I will remember His ways. He will meet me (Is. 64:5).

I will praise Him. There is none like Him — no god, no one on this earth, nothing. God alone is God, my God, the Maker of heaven and earth, my Maker.

I have been waiting, I am waiting, I will keep waiting. And while I wait, I rejoice in the Lord.

Come down, Lord, and act on my behalf (Is. 64:4).
