Worthy of Praise

The Lord is worthy of praise. He is worthy of praise no matter my circumstance, no matter my busyness or overwhelm, no matter my mood.

He is worthy of praise. He is worthy of my praise. He is first. That’s my God.

He is the One who created the heavens and the earth. He is the One who painted the dawn this morning. He is the One who has carried me through this day so far and will continue to direct my steps to evening and guard me in my sleep. This is all true.

Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. (Revelation 15:3-4)

It’s easy for me to get caught up in all that’s going on around me. It’s easy to wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

But it’s for me to come to my God. It’s for me to say, “Here I am, Lord.” It’s for me to say, “This is Your day. You created it. Show me the way. Show me how to rejoice and be glad.” It’s for me to rejoice. It’s for me to praise Him.

My eyes are fixed on the Lord. My feelings may betray me and I may not have slept well last night (which I didn’t), but my eyes are fixed on the Lord. And as I talked about in my last post, it’s not about my feelings. My God is worthy of praise.

Revelation 15:3 on sunset

And that’s where I want to dwell today. I want to rest in Him. I want to choose what is better like Mary did (Luke 11:42).

Revelation 15:3 on sunset

His works are marvelous. His ways are righteous and true. He alone is holy. And I will glorify His name this day.

Praise the Lord.
