Sing to the Lord

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. (Psalm 96:1-2)

When all else fails, sing. Sing to the Lord. Nothing may make sense. Sing. Everything may be going wrong. Sing. Everything may be falling apart. Sing. Sing to the Lord.

Everything may make sense. Sing. Everything may be going right. Sing. Everything may be coming together. Sing. Sing to the Lord.

Sing to the Lord a new song. Psalm 96:1

Why sing? I don’t really know. But sing or singing is used over 125 times in the Bible. Why sing?

All I know is that when I sing, I connect with the Lord. I want that. I need that. Right now. I will sing today.

And when I sing, I begin to feel settled and calmed. I need that too.

And when I sing, it blesses the Lord. I want to bless the Lord.

Circumstances may not change, but my heart might. I find rest in the overwhelm. God gave me singing.

Why sing? Because God gave it to me. And it’s a gift I’ve found I want, I need. Bless His name.

So I will sing.

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. (Psalm 96:1-2)
