A Day to Praise

Praise the Lord. When I have nothing, praise the Lord. When I have abundance, praise the Lord.

What I have or don’t have has no effect on who God is. What I have or don’t have does not change God’s character. What I have or don’t have does not change God’s promises. His promises to love me, to fellowship with me, to make me like pure gold, to lift me from the miry clay of this world and to clothe me never change (Psalm 40:2, Matthew 6:30).

He sings over me (Zephaniah 3:17). He gives me life — eternal life.

No matter what my day holds, my God never changes. No matter what I bring Him, my God never changes. No matter who I am in the body and whether I’m broken or whole, my God never changes.

And because He never changes, I live. Because He never changes, I love. Because He never changes, I praise.

Psalm 150
Psalm 150

When I have nothing, I praise. When I have abundance, I praise. In all things, in all circumstances, I praise (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

I praise and I stand firm. And He fights for me, commands His holy army over me, covers me with His love (Psalm 91:11, Song of Solomon 2:4).

Today is a day He has made. I will praise, rejoice, and be glad (Psalm 118:24).
